When Jesus entered Jerusalem on that first Palm Sunday he was receiving the honour and praise due his name. This was no spontaneous outpouring of adoration, everything was carefully set in place by Jesus. Jesus was receiving praise on his terms.

Although it appears to have been only his followers who welcomed him, the people in the temple  ignored him.  The next day when Jesus returned to the temple, he cleansed it - an indication that he will receive the glory due his name.
